From Folha de São Paulo newspaper – Oct. 04, 2009
The Data-folha research, done at the whole country, it shows that 13% of Brazilians confess already to have changed their votes for money, for jobs, or for presents. In a universe of 132 million voters, that percentile corresponds to 17 million people, over 16 years old.
Still according with that study, 94% of the interviewees see as condemnable to sell votes, percentile identical to the ones that declared is wrong to pay a bribe; but not immoral.
For specialists, Brazilians think correctly on ethics, but they don't perform it in harmony. According with the anthropologist Lívia Barbosa: – "Or we live in Scandinavia and we didn't know, or what we carry out just corresponds to a tiny part of what we say versus what we do".
My commentary:
Dear mirror, mirror upon the wall, which is the most corrupt people of all?
When living in Brazil, I made myself that question many times. In the course of the years, – and today very far from that disastrous country, – I discovered that a nation formed mainly by criminal, dummies and illiterate people could not be different.
Brazil is essentially a country of cowardly people, which stopped being what they were, to overtake, – under the influence of the Worker's Party and Lula’s gold stick, – what they really have been always.
Without fear of an error, it is easy to see that during the Lula’s administration, with him ahead, Brazilians left finally the closet to assume their true nature.
Some are simply replicating and Lula, the Obama’s man, is inspiring millions of others!
Being most of the Brazilians an ignorant crowd, which sees school education just the means, as well as the end of learning how to sign their name and to read the credit plan in “ten time without interest”, corruption and venality is, without reserves, a sauce embellishing their lives.
Lula’s administrations certainly taught properly how to vote for with a hand in the pocket. Sometimes with the two hands
Because of such practices, the thousands of monthly murders occurring nowadays in the main streets of most Brazilian cities is, certainly, the national amusement climax.
In this sense, I believe that the other monthly millions assaults, robberies and home attacks are the stimulant, the appetizer to motivate them to a new terrifying actions, – to the rest of the world, of course, – but so usual, current, accepted and practiced by Brazilians, day-by-day.
Therefore, if we think well, selling a vote is something just boring; nor deserved to be a newspaper headline.
